Newbold College appoints Tom de Bruin

Tom de Bruin, PhD, (The Netherlands/South Africa) has been appointed as lecturer in New Testament Exegesis and Early Christian Literature at Newbold College of Higher Education. De Bruin studied at Rijksuniverstiteit Groningen (NL), University of Amsterdam (NL) and Newbold College, graduating from the latter in 2008 with distinction. De Bruin finished his PhD is New Testament Exegesis and Early Christian Literature at Leiden University in 2013, with a thesis on the Great Controversy theme in early Christian literature.

Before coming to Newbold, De Bruin served as a pastor, Union Secretary, Union departmental director, and independent researcher at the Leiden University Centre for the Arts in Society.

Call for papers: ETTC 2017

Every two years the EASRS gathers in a general meeting. The next meeting is planned for April 19–23 2017. The host institution is Friedensau university in Germany.

The theme will be: On the Freedom of a Christian: Human Accountability and Liberty in the Light of the Reformation.

Short paper session contributions are very welcome. They should address the main theme: ‘Human Accountability and Liberty’. Abstracts of no more than 150 words can be set to theologie@thh-friedensau.de by January 4, 2017.
