The School of Theology offers the position from September 1, 2022 onwards.

The candidate is expected to represent the field of Biblical Studies primarily in the Master degree programs. Expertise should include introductory studies, exegesis, theology, and history with demonstrated knowledge of the OT, as well as insights into the interrelationships of the two Testaments, and a focus on apocalyptic literature. Knowledge and experience in biblical archaeology is desirable. The teaching duties are to be performed in English, therefore sufficient language skills are required (Cambridge Advanced Certificate C1 or equivalent), as well as basic German language skills.

In addition, we would like to see commitment in academic self-administration and in the organization and further development of the study programs. The willingness for interdisciplinary cooperation is a prerequisite.

The offered Juniorprofessur is a 6-years tenure track positon, with one evaluation after 3 years and a second one at the end. After successful evaluations, the position will be transformed into a full professorship.

The requirements for employment result from HSG LSA § 40. In addition, the applicant must be a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and should have several years of professional experience as a pastor. Remuneration will be in accordance with the financial guidelines of the university. Full-time faculty are expected to reside in the vicinity of Friedensau.
